Mouse Traps & New Elephants

So the only down side of the job I have decided so far is setting mouse traps. Ugh. It makes me feel like such a horrible person. In the giraffe barn we have our own hay room where we keep hay (duh), grain, all of our tools, etc. We get really bad mice-especially now that it is cold out. And when we only have one or 2 mice in there we can catch them by their tails and just let them outside- but now there are just too many and we have to get rid of them :( So we set traps and fill the little neck smasher thing with peanut butter. Ugh. We caught 2 today. Makes me sad! But on a lighter note- we are getting an elephant on Tuesday! We have 3 females- we are getting a 23 year old female from Florida. You would not believe what a small world it is- the elephant is owned by the elephant trainer I worked with at Ringling! Crazy. I can't wait to see her :)
