Baby (Giraffe) Update

So many babies in my life right now! Both human and giraffe :) Baby giraffe is doing so great. She is growing up right in front of me and I feel like such a proud momma. She is galloping, she ate hay for the first time today--and spit it out disgusted by its taste-- she's nursing great from Pili and she had her first solid poop yesterday! Something only a mom would be excited about :) Yesterday we introduced her to Binti. That went very well. Baby tried to nurse from Binti and Binti immediately let her know, "NO, there is nothing in there for you to drink!" Baby must have thought that Binti produced chocolate milk. Binti gave perfectly appropriate warning kicks to warn the baby to not try it again. We let the baby outside in the sand yard today. Tomorrow we are separating Pili and the baby to do her exam. We will draw blood, get her height and weight, and do a "well baby" exam. We will work as fast as we can to get mom and baby back together. We are shooting for 10 minutes. Any longer then that and Pili might break through the door and try to kill us. Ekk....
