the packing has continued and my apartment is looking so bare! everything except dishes and clothes are all boxed up. i bought new couches last week from a guy off of craigslist. they are red microfiber and so beautiful! i have this huge zebra print area rug that i will put in my new living room. the couches are going to look so great with it :) i gave my old couches to the other giraffe keeper erin. for one night i didn't have couches and i got a preview of how much the girls are going to love their new big house with space. i think they thought the open area was a wrestling pin. they were having a blast with no furniture.

ive become obsessed with decorating magazines and looking up ideas on the martha stewart website. it is going to be so fun to make the house mine.

work this week went by fast. it has been damn hot here. we had heat index of over 100 for several days. of course we are given the absolute worst uniforms ever. they are these terrible heavy non-breathable shorts and polos. i dont know why they can't just let us wear t-shirts like every other zoo in the south. damani has been trying to make a baby for us. poor guy- pili just doesn't give him a chance. she is such a tease. she lets him get all ready and then right when he is going to seal the deal she throws her head up in disgust and walks away. we always keep track of our tours in the giraffe barn and this month- if there aren't any tours today- we will have had 26 tours in 30 days. that is so crazy.

i get to pick up my bridesmaid dress today. it is all altered and ready to wear for kari's wedding. i go home 3 weeks from today and i am so excited. the girls and i will make that awful drive home :)
